The official language of Zürich is German,but the main language spoken is the local variant of the Alemannic Swiss German dialect.Many museums and art galleries can be found in the city, As a “metropolis of experiences” by the water, with a magnificent view of the snowcapped Alps on the horizon,Zürich offers a unique mixture of attractions.The lively tradition of merchant guilds in Zürich is dating back to the middle Ages.Zürich is a leading global city among the world's largest financial centres despite having a relatively low population.The city is home of large number of financial institutions and banking companies.Most of the research and development centres of Switzerland are concentrated in Zürich and the low tax rates attract overseas companies to set up their headquarters in Zürich.Zurich’s shopping mile has contributed largely to the city’s reputation as an El Dorado for shoppers and is a top address for international fashion labels,jewelry and watches.
