Biography
Massimo Clementi is a full Professor of Microbiology and Virology, University Vita-Salute San Raffaele, Milan, Italy (2001-present) Academic and institutional activity. Director of the Laboratory of Microbiology, San Raffaele Research Institute and Hospital – Faculty of Medicine, Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, Milan, Italy. Director of the Postgraduate School in Microbiology and Virology (2004-2011). Professor of Virology and Microbiology in degree courses of the Faculty of Medicine and in several postgraduate schools. He is a President of the Degree in Medicine and Surgery, Vita-Salute San Raffaele University (2007-2012). Board member of the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University University (2011-2013). Component of commissions of the Faculty, the University, the Lombardy Region, the Ministry of Health-ISS. Vice-Chancellor of the University Vita-Salute San Raffaele (2013 to present). Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, University Vita-Salute San Raffaele University (2010-present). Member of the Academic Senate of the University Vita-Salute San Raffaele, Milan, Italy (since 2004). Scientific Experience. Author of over 300 scientific papers published in international journals, cited in the literature over 5700 times, for a total IF higher than 1500 and an h-index of 40 (Google Scholar). Author of more than 20 review articles by invitation and the author of 5 texts of Microbiology and Virology with educational purposes. Holder of 11 patents (more than half granted in Europe and the United States), mostly antiviral drugs. Holder, in person and with the coworkers, of many research funds of private and public institutions, national and international (MIUR, FIRB, Ministry of Health, ISS-AIDS, the European Community, CNR, ANRS, EEC Foundation, in addition to GSK , Merck, Sanofi-Pasteur). Evaluator of research projects for EU, Ministry of Education, National Research Council, National Institute of Health, Tuscany and Veneto Regions, the Welcome Trust.
